By now, a lot of people, us included, are feeling tired of 2016 and weary of 2017. But at least someone is optimistic about the future. And by “someone,” we meant Pantone.

Nothing, not political nor social turmoil, can’t stop Pantone from continuing its tradition of choosing the Color of the Year. After 2016’s Serenity and Rose Quartz, “the global authority on color” has revealed their pick for 2017: Pantone 15-0343 Greenery.

“Greenery bursts forth in 2017 to provide us with the hope we collectively yearn for amid a complex social and political landscape,” explains Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute. “Satisfying our growing desire to rejuvenate, revitalize and unite, Greenery symbolizes the reconnection we seek with nature, one another and a larger purpose.”

When it comes to fashion, Pantone refers to Greenery as “a natural complement to a wide range of palettes,” making the color easily pairable. So expect to see a pop of green in clothes, accessories and footwear next year. Hopefully, it will make you as optimistic as Pantone.
