THE NEW YORKERS. Who could be more of a New Yorker than Donna Karan? Apparently, CFDA- and International Woolmark Prize-winning design duo Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne might just pull it off.
They were named successors to designer Donna Karan, overseeing all collections produced under the DKNY name. The appointment, rather surprising as both designers were still seen as up-and-coming figures, garnered favorable responses. After all, the brand could use fresh new talents to reinvigorate its appeal. Chow and Osborne have indeed proven their exceptional ability in designing luxurious casual pieces with a measure of “street” charm for their own brand, Public School, which had attracted the interest from the likes of Anna Wintour. Let’s just wait and see what they are going to bring to DKNY.
