We see it rollin’
Trunks are nothing new in Louis Vuitton‘s archives. Rolling trunks, though…
The French fashion house has recently introduced a series of new rolling luggages, created in collaboration with designer Marc Newson.
“I’m obsessive about packing everything into a bag of a certain size which is why it was so important for me to design a product that could tick all of those boxes and be the kind of the perfect piece of luggage for a person like me, that travels and won’t travel with anything more than is absolutely necessary,” Newson says.
In order to create a rolling luggage that “could tick all of [the] boxes,” Newson didn’t just design it; he also engineered it in such a way to make sure that it’s ultra light. Besides the lightweight self-reinforced polypropylene composite that makes the structure, the luggage is also completed with ultra-slim (and TSA-approved) aluminium 3-digit combination zip-pull lock system.
As a tribute to Louis Vuitton’s trunks from the olden days, the corners and handles are covered in natural cowhide leather. The rolling luggages are also produced in the fashion house’s iconic materials such as the Monogram canvas, Monogram Eclipse, Damier Graphite, Taiga leather and Epi leather in seven colors.
The rolling luggages are already available in select stores, including the one in Jakarta, Indonesia.
