This is the basketball legend’s third collaborative watch with Hublot
Approximately a month after he competed in his last professional match ever, retired basketball athlete Kobe Bryant is now playing a different game. Watch game, that is.
On May 19, 2016, Bryant officially unveiled the watch he’s created with Hublot at the timepiece brand’s store in Beverly Hills. Dubbed Classic Fusion Kobe Bryant HeroVillain, the new watch is the third one to come out from Bryant’s collaboration with Hublot; they have previously teamed up for Black Mamba and Vino watches in 2013 and 2015 respectively. The name “HeroVillain” itself is derived from Bryant’s two personas as a basketball player.
The watch is said to signify the new chapter in Bryant’s post-basketball life. While its predecessors were more sporty-looking, HeroVillain is more “dressy.” You can definitely see the sophistication in the watch’s black and gold design.
The dial comes with a stunning detail in the shape of a snake appliqué, which symbolizes Bryant’s nickname, “Black Mamba.” To continue the “snake” theme, the watch is completed with a black python strap.
Limited to 24 units only, HeroVillain is priced at US$ 20,400.
