PERFECT PATINA. How does one elevate a perennial classic? French luxury brand Louis Vuitton may have the answer. It launched Cuir Ombré, a permanent line comprising the brand’s signature bags, shoes and belts crafted from natural, plain leather perfected by touches of slightly aged patina.
But instead of letting the leather age by itself, the artisans of the house applied soft, subtle patinas by hand, forming a shadow that pleasantly accentuates the modern structure of the pieces. Keepall, Lockit and Porte-Documents Voyage Bandoulière are three types of bags featured in this line, with derby shoes in British Goodyear welt construction and universal car shoes in brown leather.
