BACK FOR GOODS. Alexander Wang drops his second unisex collection for adidas Originals this March
Alexander Wang at the end of the spring/summer 2017 runway show
Alexander Wang has been notorious for much-anticipated collaborations in the past, be it with H&M or Dr. Dre. But his first taste of partnership with adidas Originals last year was kept hushed-hushed, appearing as a finale surprise at the end of Alexander Wang’s spring 2017 runway show.
That capsule collection, dubbed the “Flip Pack,” then came out in mid-September 2016 and was immediately snapped up by both fashion and sports enthusiasts. The design key was in the way how Wang recreated the iconic three stripes and straddled the styles of sportswear and street-wear.
Now, the second capsule collection has been out starting first of March 2017 at seven fine retailers, namely Barneys New York, Colette in Paris, Storm Copenhagen, Antonioli in Milan, Dover Street Market Ginza, Boon the Shop in Seoul and Joyce in Hong Kong. It will then hit select adidas Originals and Alexander Wang stores and the online shop on March 4.
The campaign for this unisex collection, which was shot by Juergen Teller in New York, first appeared on adidas Originals’ Instagram account on February 28. The image series features male models Chris Fernandez and Luke Storey alongside Lexi Boling, Hanne Gaby Odiele and Binx Walton, all posing in a very nonchalant attitude that definitely makes such sportswear relatable even to those rarely seen sweating at the gym.
