Set to star as the villain in the next “Wolverine” movie, American actor Boyd Holbrook got to showcase his “badness” first in the ad campaign of Diesel’s new men’s fragrance, Bad
Contrary to its name, Bad is really good at creating its scent. In fact, it is the first fragrance to combine accords of tobacco and caviar. It is said that the latter is added to create a hint of erotic touch, “like a trickle of sweat on a man’s chiseled body.”
Flowery description aside, Diesel really goes all the way to convey the sense of seductiveness in Bad. Not only the ingredients (which also include bergamot, cardamom, lavender and orris root), but also the bottle is designed to resemble a “bad boy” leather jacket.
Moreover, Diesel also taps actor Boyd Holbrook, who is currently starring in popular Netflix drama “Narcos,” to be the face of its campaign. The printed ads are reminiscent of Diesel’s spring/summer and fall/winter campaigns this year, what with the catchy phrases on the side. One of these phrases goes, “I will be no angel, my angel.” Other phrases include, “I will love you forever today” and “You can forget about forgetting me.”
Similar “bad” phrases also appear in the campaign film, which is directed by Australian filmmaker Andrew Dominik (“Killing Them Softly,” “The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford”). The short campaign film sees Holbrook seducing a potential hookup. As she tries to kiss him, though, he stops her to tell her what she can or cannot expect from him.
That’s… Kinda nice of him to be honest, actually.
