TIME TO CONVERT. Montblanc’s TimeWalker Rally Timer 100 is a transforming chronograph that can convert into a stopwatch, rally timer and a desk clock
Montblanc may currently be focused on the release of its more commercialized pieces of its TimeWalker collection, but from the reimagined series, one timepiece stands out from the rest, the TimeWalker Rally Timer 100. This limited edition timepiece is more than just a wristwatch, as it can be converted into a stopwatch, a table clock, and a dashboard-mountable rally timer. Did we mention that it happens to also house one of the finest manually wound chronograph calibers ever?
Based on the Minerva caliber 17.29, developed in the 1930s, the Montblanc caliber MB M16.29, features a column wheel, horizontal coupling, and a power reserve of 50 hours. It is considered as one of the most beautiful manually-wound chronographs in the world, due to its large balance wheel and slow frequency. All that mechanical beauty is encased in a 50mm brushed titanium case.
Looking at the details, you will find that the caseback features two little legs that can be pulled out to convert the timepiece into a desk clock. The TimeWalker Rally Timer 100 comes with a specially designed strap that turns it into a chronograph for the wrist. A unique extra of the strap is its ability to rotate 90o just by turning it. This is to help make the watch easier to read when driving.
Only 100 pieces of the Monteblanc TimeWalker Rally Timer 100 will be released, and considering the beautiful caliber encapsulated in the case and the engineering required to create such a masterpiece of time telling, this is sure to be a highly sought after timepiece.
