Fashion news: Hedi Slimane’s taking Yves Saint Laurent in new direction

SLIMANE’S OPENING SALVO. There have been a lot of changes recently at French fashion house Yves Saint Laurent, not the least of which is the renaming of their readyto-wear line collection, which shall henceforth be known as Saint Laurent Paris

The change comes at the behest of French designer Hedi Slimane, the company’s new creative director. Slimane, who was best known previously for his work as creative director at Dior Homme, recently released images from his first ad campaign for his spring 2013 debut collection.

The series of stark black and white photos feature musician Christopher Owens, until recently the lead singer of the San Francisco band Girls.
