<p><em>Cartier presents its next magnum opus in the Privé collection and continues the long tradition of pocket watches with one of the most complex movements</em></p>

<p>Cartier’s Grande Complication skeleton pocket watch holds one of the most complex movements ever developed by the Cartier Manufacture. For one, the watch combines three of the most prestigious complications in fine watchmaking: a minute repeater, a flying tourbillon and a perpetual calendar. Design-wise, the maison presents an elegant pocket watch inside a special frame cut from rock crystal with black obsidian and white gold. And, when hung from a specially-designed suspension ring, the pocket watch can be used as a small clock. Moreover, the skeletonized style of the 9506 MC calibre that drives the watch allows for the beauty of the ensemble to be fully appreciated, from the perpetual calendar’s counters, time, date, minutes, to the flying tourbillon and, finally, the minute repeater’s gongs and hammers. Finally, with a thickness of 6.77mm and a diameter of 35mm, this 9506 MC calibre stands out for its fineness and elegance, honoring a pocket watch’s pure and classic aesthetic.</p>

<h2>Cartier Tank Normale</h2>
<p>The Tank Normale from Cartier, which debuted at this year’s Watches and Wonders Geneva, joins the ranks of iconic timepieces like the Crash watch, the Tank Cintreé, the Tonneau, the Tank Asymétrique, the Cloche and the Tank Chinoise in the Cartier Privé collection. The Tank Normale comes in seven distinct designs: two simple hour/minute models, three skeletonized versions that feature a 24-hour complication marked by a sun and crescent moon followed by another two hour/minute models with yellow gold and platinum bracelets.</p>
<p>The latter two, in particular, are the first models in the Cartier Privé collection to feature yellow gold and platinum bracelets. And in this case, they showcase contrasting satin and polished finishes in a clear nod to Cartier designs from the 1970s. As such, the case and bracelet appear as one with their satin finishes. This continuity is further juxtaposed against the polished finish, highlighting the outlines of the brancards and the edges of the case. Also worth noting is how the year “1917” is placed on the 7 o’clock marker where the Cartier branding usually sits.</p>
