Up close with the Bell & Ross BR 05 Horolum

A unique horological homage to the technical forms of modern buildings

Bell & Ross recently unveiled the new BR 05 Horolum, which adopts urban and mineral references. For instance, its lines and finish draw on the aforementioned contemporary architecture. Interestingly, the watch also pay homage to the minimalist and technical forms of modern buildings, as their strong rough concrete walls recall minerality, and thus the city.

Most importantly, the hands and indices of the BR 05 Horolum are covered in Super-LumiNova C5, which is arguably the most powerful photoluminescent coating that exists today. In short, it quickly accumulates light before rendering it in the dark with long-lasting intensity, thereby guaranteeing a high level of luminescence and excellent legibility at night. Interestingly, its green color, which is already intense during the day, becomes even more powerful at night as it truly glows.

Overall, with its photo luminescent coating, and its intense green color—which is reminiscent of that used to light airport runways at night—the watch is simply perfect for urban explorers who can be seen in the city any time of day or night.
