This new design will reduce the spread of respiratory droplets
Under Armour continues to take part in the fight against COVID-19, this time by engineering a first-of-its-kind performance mask for athletes. Millions of athletes worldwide have been wrestling with the challenges of working out under stay-at-home conditions for months now. And of course, there’s always a question whether they should wear a face mask when training in public or outside. The debate continues to swirl over how best to stay healthy outdoors and when to train with a face mask on.
And now, Under Armour has settled the debate with the release of the UA sportsmask. It is a reusable, water-resistant performance face mask designed for maximum breathability. It has a moldable nose bridge to help it stay secure in place and mitigate airflow to the eyes, which helps to prevent glasses from fogging. This first-of-its-kind mask will also help reduce the spread of respiratory droplets by the wearer.
Furthermore, this is a three-layer model that is made from lightweight spacer fabric, breathable open-cell foam and the brand’s Iso-Chill fabric treated with PROTX2, an anti-microbial technology which inhibits the growth of bacteria. The mask also comes in four different sizes.
