Travel Review: The Spa at the Four Seasons Resorts Bali at Jimbaran Bay

THE WELL SEASON. A new concept at one of Bali’s finest spas highlights the healing traditions of Balinese culture

The Spa at the Four Seasons Resorts Bali at Jimbaran Bay (62-361/701-010) is shaking things up (in a very gentle, relaxing way) by introducing a new overall concept and treatments inspired by Balinese culture and its connection to its aquatic surrounds.

Quite appropriate to its beachside garden setting, the spa is getting a variety of water-based treatments that rely upon the power of water to, in the resort’s words, “restore negative ions, bringing balance to emotions and energy levels.”

The resort’s new signature treatments are designed to balance the spa-goers personal magnetic field using water in combination with salt and crystals, which are said to produce negative ions while cleansing and detoxifying.

Befitting the Four Seasons, the spa has truly engineered some one-of-a-kind spa experiences. For example, the Marine Algae: Cleansing Waters treatment starts with exfoliation using warmed Himalayan salt to charge your body with those helpful negative ions. A wrap of mineral-rich algae absorbs elements and minerals to detoxify the body.

The Mimpi Manis (Sweet Dreams) treatment is designed to help you find blissful sleep through a Vichy shower, dreamtime music, Ayurvedic marma-poink massage and chakra healing.

Whether you believe the new age hype or not, there’s no way somebody could undergo such physical and spiritual pampering and not come out the other side feeling like a new person.
