Travel Review: QT Sydney

QUITE TEMPTING. The recently launched QT Sydney (49 Market St., Sydney; 61-2/8262-0000; is equal parts boutique hotel, art gallery and hipster hotspot, an unlikely combination that somehow works beautifully together.

Housed in two historic buildings, the 1920s state theater and the former Cowlings department store, the hotel features eye-catching Art Deco decor, bespoke furniture and ever-changing art installation. The QT Sydney’s 200 rooms also come in a variety of styles but all come with luxurious amenities like oversized bathtubs and plush bedding. Helmed by chef Paul Easson, formerly of Melbourne’s Rockpool, the brasserie-style Gowings Bar & Grill has all the makings of a hot spot, while the gilt Lounge is aimed squarely at the A-list cocktail crowd.
