Few designers have embraced animal motifs quite as consistently as Thom Browne. What began with the now-iconic Hector bag, modeled after the designer&#8217;s wire-haired dachshund, has evolved into an ever-growing cast of creatures that have appeared across collections over the years. For Spring/Summer 2027, that fascination takes center stage once again, drawing inspiration from Pixar&#8217;s beloved 1998 film “A Bug&#8217;s Life.”
The collection ventured beyond Browne&#8217;s familiar codes while remaining firmly rooted in them. The opening looks featured models wearing headpieces inspired by bee stings, reimagined through bowler hats, sheer veils and intricate bee embellishments. From there, the show returned to the designer&#8217;s unmistakable preppy vocabulary: tailored jackets layered over vests, ties worn outside the collar and silhouettes styled with skorts, shorts and cigarette trousers.

Presented beneath the summer sun in the courtyard of Palazzo Serbelloni, the collection unfolded as a celebration of the natural world. Embroidered bees appeared throughout the lineup, while frogs nestled among lily-pad motifs and dragonflies transformed tailoring into something playful and unexpected.

The vibrant palette further amplified the collection&#8217;s sense of fantasy. Shades of pink, yellow, red and blue appeared across plaid fabrics, creating lively contrasts against Browne&#8217;s signature striped motifs.
The show ultimately reinforced a hallmark of Browne&#8217;s design philosophy: precision and whimsy are not opposing forces but complementary ones. In his Spring/Summer 2027 universe, embroidered frogs, bee-inspired veils and meticulous tailoring coexist effortlessly, demonstrating how imagination and craftsmanship can thrive side by side.
