SOLAR SO GOOD. When it comes to innovation and technology, the Japanese admittedly have the upper hand
Case in point: Seiko, with its world’s first solar-powered GPS timepiece.
Made in stainless steel with a beautiful midnight blue dial, the Astron GPS Solar Dual-Time 8X Series SSE053 is, in a word, stunning. The 45mm high-tech watch allows one to connect to satellites to adjust the time, no matter where you are.
Considering the fact that the dial is solar-paneled, the power reserve indicator at 10 o’clock is pretty much ignorable.
Meanwhile, the perpetual calendar function (with a day and date display) is correct up to the year 2100. There’s a second time indicator at 6 o’clock to adjust to your home time, to boot.
