Kim Jones and Daniel Arsham reimagined the iconic pattern for this season
The newspaper pattern is one of Dior’s most iconic creations in the history of fashion. It was first introduced by John Galliano on the Spring/Summer 2000 Hobo Chic haute couture runway. Now, twenty years later, Kim Jones has reworked the iconic print into Dior Men’s Spring/Summer 2020 collection.
Together with contemporary artist Daniel Arsham, the print has been reworked to feature press releases written by Christian Dior himself, along with the inscription “Collection Été 3020,” which translates to “summer collection 3020”. The inscription is a nod to Arsham’s temporal projections for the collection. The print is seen on highly coveted items such as the Saddle Bag, B23 sneakers, nylon organza jacket and socks in beige and cream-colored garments.
