The French Riviera has been a constant source of inspiration for many fashion designers. This is especially true for Givenchy’s creative director Matthew M. Williams, who has cited the Mediterranean coast as the birthplace of ideas that has been merged with his Californian roots. The Givenchy Plage capsule collection is the direct result of this creative amalgamation. Also dubbed the beachwear line of Givenchy, this collection revisits the house’s heritage and iconic creations.

In essence, the Plage collection highlights the essential outfits for escaping the hectic cosmopolitan life and heading to the beaches. Design-wise, each piece in the capsule collection features loose-fitting silhouettes and is made of linen and other lightweight fabrics. For men, sets of graphic print T-shirts and shorts are joined by cargo Bermudas as the season’s must-have item. One of the most stand-out pieces is the Giv Cut sunglasses, which showcase an ultra-modern 3D design and G-shaped frames. To complete the lineup, Williams has included the Monumental Mallow shoes, ready to break into any sandy situation.
