And that is saying a lot, because there are many, many great ones.
The Edge is a startling villa property tucked away in a secluded corner of Bali’s southern “Bukit” near Uluwatu temple. Overlooking the ocean from “the edge” of a cliff, this breathtaking place stuns even the most jaded traveler.
The architect, Fredo Taffin, cleverly incorporated several huge, pre-existing boulders into the design. The villas themselves are comfort and luxury defined. One of the most unique aspects is their interesting “no menu” policy. Your dinner is customized to any particular craving by the executive chef, whose signature dishes include fresh seafood, Mediterranean classics and Asian delicacies.
That is paired with the perfect wine from their own cellar. Breakfast is prepared each morning for each guest in the villa kitchen by a personal butler. They also have a “grazing menu” at the poolside café. With all the great, innovative places in Bali these days, it’s difficult to stand out from the rest, but The Edge really does that.
