Well, as we stated last week, the movie awards season continues. After the Globes, this week comes Critics Choice Awards 2019. How about the red carpet looks, though? Apparently, the actors opted for ‘colder’ looks. So other than opting the obvious darker suits, many chose blue for its icy alternative – among other tones.
Check the list below,
Taye Diggs in Richard James
The show’s host was not only the first to show up, but one to set the standard. From the wonderful navy dress jacket to his bowtie that glorified the golden age of movies with its old-fashioned camera pattern – courtesy of Richard James.
Richard Madden in Armani
We got a lot of heat for omitting Richard from the Globes’ list last week – so this week he needs to look even better to make the list. Well, the King of the North did not disappoint. The midnight blue double breasted velvet Armani suit surely looked dashing.
John Legend in Ermenegildo Zegna XXX
Everyone likes some quirky dresser every once in a while – and John Legend was our pick last night. The brown attire from top to toe, combined with the pattern in his Ermenegildo Zegna XXX suit, and his subtle turtle neck made John simply stood out.
Diego Luna in Prada
The Mexican actor came with a simple idea – Prada dark suit, one button, no tie. Yet, he appeared a million dollars more. Is it just us, or does Diego looked strikingly very similar to his character in “Narcos: Mexico”? From the looks to the cold confidence.
Edgar Ramirez in Prada
One of those who took advantage of the event’s blue carpet by wearing a lighter blue, Edgar looked simply flawless in something as special as this Prada set. Also, the brown tie and shoes definitely balanced the whole outfit together. Brilliant.
Ryan Gosling in Dior
Another regular favorite in our red carpet lists, Ryan opted something simple and unassuming this time – but can’t help to look classy anyway. Classic shawl collared black Dior tux with a fully buttoned white shirt, yet no tie. If that’s not subtly dapper, we don’t know what is.
Rami Malek in Givenchy
It seems that the “Bohemian Rhapsody” actor is quite a fan of Givenchy lately. Last night he put on another of theirs – this time a sharp light grey suit. The color would make Rami’s eyes pop, and the cut (with a peaked lapel) certainly made this a statement of style.
Ben Whishaw in Alexander McQueen
Alexander McQueen’s usually gave birth to quirky pieces for the black tie affairs. But Ben’s outfit last night was far from rebellious – it was monotoned and well fit. The only spark of wildness was an embroidered red rose that was right in the middle of the whole outfit.
John Krasinski in Brioni
Most actors come to award shows in white dress jacket to emulate the timeless Bogart look. But one day someone would come and disturb the tinseltown established dresscode. It happened with Krasinski’s body fit white jacket with pitch dark shirt and no tie Brioni combo.
Milo Ventimiglia in Giorgio Armani
Eventually it comes down on an uncommon color choice but delivered in the true Hollywood standard of a black tie attire. Everyone’s favorite TV daddy Milo Ventimiglia came in a Giorgio Armani dark chocolate suit that just compliments his eyes, his brunettism, his facial hair and his flawless persona.
