The Monte Carlo Rally, one of the world’s most demanding motorsport events, has been a proving ground for both man and machine since its inception in 1911. In 1965, Porsche entered the rally with the newly introduced 911, a car that defied expectations with its performance in treacherous conditions. The team relied on Heuer’s dashboard timers to navigate the grueling course, demonstrating the crucial role of accurate timekeeping in competitive racing. This historic moment laid the foundation for Porsche’s dominance in rallying and deepened its ties with TAG Heuer.

The TAG Heuer Carrera Chronosprint x Porsche Rallye is a modern tribute to this legacy, available in two versions: stainless steel (limited to 911 pieces) and 18K 3N solid yellow gold (limited to just 11 pieces). The design takes inspiration from the Heuer dashboard timers used in the 1965 Monte Carlo Rally, with a black dial reminiscent of the instruments found in classic Porsche race cars. The beige markings reference the original car&#8217;s steering wheel, while red accents on the flange mirror the acceleration of the 1965 Porsche 911 “147,” which went from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.4 seconds.

Its unique chronograph module allows the central seconds hand to speed up for the first 15 seconds before gradually slowing down to complete the minute, a visual representation of a car’s acceleration curve. The sapphire caseback reveals a Porsche steering wheel-shaped rotor, reinforcing the watch’s deep automotive connection.
