Summery scents to welcome the new season…

With the changing of the seasons comes the chance to try out a new set of fragrances to enhance your presence no matter where you go…

FERRAGAMO – Bright Leather

Lighthearted Delight – The second entry in the “Ferragamo” collection, Bright Leather is the Salvatore Ferragamo’s airy take on a leather note-based fragrance. Perfumer Antoine Maisondieu did an excellent job marrying a bright, citrusy accord with a leathery note, hence the name. The olfactory pyramid begins with a zesty opening comprising bergamot, grapefruit and mandarin orange notes. As the top layer dissipates, a white leather note reigns delicately, sharing a throne with notes of rosemary and basil before giving way to a woody-musky base. Thanks to its fresh, clean vibe, Bright Leather makes a safe option for those just venturing into the realm of leathery fragrances. Formulated as an eau de toilette, the fragrance is available in 50 ml and 100 ml at C&F.

BON PARFUMEUR – 702

From Tokyo To Paris – Inspired by old temples in Japan and the magnificence of Notre-Dame, Bon Parfumeur presented an aromatic number, 702: Incense, Lavender and Cashmere Wood. In the hands of Juliette Karagueuzoglou of IFF, the fascinating mystique of incense is juxtaposed with the freshness of fougère and comforting warm woody accords, creating a unique character. 702 opens with bright incense and elemi notes, heralding a duet of lemon and pink pepper notes. The heart layer enters with a solid lavender note, followed by cashmere wood and cedar notes. The base is further softened with Peru balsam, musk and vanilla notes, resulting in a powdery, creamy facet that fascinates even the most discerning noses. The eau de parfum is offered in 30 ml and 100 ml. Available at Masari stores and masarishop.com.

PENHALIGON – Endymion Concentré

Lover of the Moon – Blessed with an attractive physique, Endymion is a shepherd in Greek mythology who made the goddess of the moon Selene infatuated. Giving the nod to his charm, British perfume house Penhaligon presented Endymion Concentré, upgrading the original titular cologne to a new height. A fresh spicy combination in nature, the fragrance is enriched with subtle floral and leathery notes and a smoky facet to illustrate the shepherd’s irresistible charm. Notes of lavender, sage and bergamot open the perfume, followed by geranium and suede note that forms the heart. Drying down, the blend leaves a combination of leather and nutmeg notes, with a hint of incense building a sheer mist of mystery. A perfect accomplice for evening occasions, Endymion Concentré is packaged in a midnight blue glass bottle that lives up to its name. Available at Galeries Lafayette

GUCCI – Guilty Pour Homme

Guilty Pleasure – First launched in 2011, Gucci’s Guilty Pour Homme is a masculine companion to the 2010 Gucci Guilty. It is an aromatic concoction designed by Jacques woody, boasting an ensemble of lavender, Amalfi lemon and African orange flower notes built on top of a woody base. Celebrating this creation, the Italian house presented a special campaign fronted by BET Award winner A$AP Rocky. Previously starring in the Gucci Tailoring campaign in 2021, the rapper flaunts his unapologetic confidence and charm in the latest ad, sporting an assemblage of an ash suit, white leather pants and white shoes. While striking some poses in a vintage-flavored walk-in closet, Rocky showcases two versions of the fragrance, the original Gucci Guilty Pour Homme and the Gucci Guilty Pour Homme Parfum. Also appearing in the campaign are Julia Garner and “The Umbrella Academy” star Elliot Page.

JO MALONE – Myrrh & Tonka Cologne Intense

Beauty of The Desert – Jo Malone honors Namibia and its splendor with its creation, Myrrh & Tonka Cologne Intense. Depicting golden sand dunes and myrrh trees that adorn the vast area of the coastal Namib desert, the concoction boasts a simple pyramid formed by three main notes: lavender, Omumbiri myrrh, and tonka bean. Specifically, the olfactive melody begins with a note of lavender that lends an aromatic facet. At the heart lies a warm, ambery note of myrrh that evokes alluring sensuality. The journey ends with a solid base of tonka bean notes, enriched with the creamy sweetness of vanilla and almond. To achieve a greater complexity, Myrrh & Tonka Cologne Intense can be paired with Mimosa & Cardamom Cologne for a fresher touch or Oud & Bergamot Cologne Intense for a warmer counterpart.

SERGE LUTENS – Five O’Clock Au Gingembre

One Afternoon at the Palace – Serge Lutens has once again successfully interpreted a unique scenario into an olfactive delight; this time, it is a lovely tea ritual at the Buckingham. Dubbed Five O’Clock Au Gingembre, the fragrance takes pride in its fresh and warm spicy accords formulated by Christopher Sheldrake. Notes of tea and bergamot opens the olfactive orchestra, followed by woody, cinnamon and candied ginger notes that genuinely capture a regal yet intimate afternoon tea scene. A patchouli note gives an earthy touch to the concoction, contrasting with the heat of pepper notes and a trio of honey, amber and cacao notes. A part of the signature Collection Noire, Five O’Clock Au Gingembre is a creative translation of tea-and-ginger indulgence in the form of aromatic blend. Available at Galeries Lafayette.
