EXCLUSIVE ALTERNATIVE. The watchmaking brand of Tudor has always been widely recognized for providing attainable luxury watches whose technical, aesthetic and functional qualities rival that of most other luxury watch brands. As is evident in its debut watch still coveted as rare collector’s item today, the Oyster model, the story of Tudor is a story of technical developments as it meets with the stylish features of watches designed in both performance and appearance for any modern, dynamic man. The new watches in 2011 are the fruit of a studied stylistic redefinition of the brand’s legacy.

On March 6, 1946, Rolex creator Hans Wilsdorf had a vision to create a new brand of timepieces that would be attainable to more watch enthusiasts around the world, yet still reflect the dependability and value that Rolex is famous for. The vision of Mr. Wilsdorf heralded an entirely new watchmaking dimension: the TUDOR watch brand. In that same decade, the development of wristwatches was at full thottle and the public was hungry for a moderately priced product whose technical, aesthetic and functional qualities were guaranteed by one of the biggest luxury watches brands available in that era.
Tudor, committed to realizing the vision of its founder, which had become the very core DNA of the brand, they launched the debut watch, the Oyster model, followed by the Tudor Oyster Prince collection between 1947 and 1952. From the very beginning, Tudor’s is a story of technical developments, like the waterproof Oyster case and the adoption of a self-winding movement, which were not limited only to functionality, but turned into stylish features of watches designed in both performance and appearance for modern, dynamic men. And so it came to pass that the world officially recognized Tudor as a watch brand that successfully fused precision and reliability, style and technique with a high-quality manufacturing process.
