For its Pre-Fall 2026 campaign, Valentino turns toward atmosphere and artistry, staging its latest narrative within the historic world of Cy Twombly. Shot inside the artist’s Italian palazzo, once a deeply private creative retreat, the campaign unfolds through themes of memory, movement and quiet transformation. At the center is brand ambassador Sombr, whose restrained yet magnetic presence moves naturally through the space. Rather than overpowering the setting, he becomes part of it, reflecting the layered history embedded within the palazzo’s walls.
Inspired by the mood and spontaneity of late-1960s photography, the campaign revisits Valentino’s long-running dialogue with art and culture through a distinctly contemporary lens. Under the direction of Alessandro Michele, the collection leans into texture, romance and personal expression. Rich velvets, delicate lace and reworked vintage-inspired tailoring shape a softer, more intimate vision of menswear that feels expressive without losing its sense of refinement.
What gives the campaign its impact is its sense of restraint. Rather than overexplaining its narrative, Valentino allows the interaction between character, clothing and setting to unfold organically. Color cuts through stillness, garments move with ease and the palazzo itself becomes part of the story. Through this measured approach, Valentino positions itself not simply as a fashion house, but as a cultural storyteller with one foot in heritage and the other in constant evolution.
