This year’s spring/summer presentations for men’s collections started at New York on the last days of May. But Saint Laurent, instead of waiting for their hometown Paris’ turn (which runs from 18-23 June), decided to throw theirs in Malibu earlier this month.
Set at the renowned East Coast beach, Anthony Vaccarello’s third only men’s show in his nearly three years tenure for YSL, was attended by an a-list filled guestbook.

The likes of Joe Keery, Lakeith Stanfield, Liam Hemsworth, Vincent Gallo, Charlie Puth, former DAMAN feature model David Friend, and the house’s recently appointed face and everyone’s undisputed man of the year Keanu Reeves all reserved a front row spot.

Meanwhile, the collection itself went into a new direction from last year’s 1970s’ New York. This time, not only he brought in the tropical influences of Morocco to the sands of Malibu, but also some vintage rockstar vibes.
Hence, loose satin tops with sequins and embroidered patterns were all over,
along with flashy military jackets (in many colors and details) and the clasically sexy slim fit suits.
Vacarello also played a lot with traditional sillhouettes like blouses, tunics and robes,
paired with long scarves and big hats, – making most of his runway looks having a thick bohemian accent for the upcoming summer.
