Belgium-born designer, <a href="http://daman.co.id/?s=Raf+Simons" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Raf Simons</a>, who is currently at the creative helm of American fashion brand Calvin Klein was awarded for two awards at this year’s CFDA Awards. He went away with the statues for both Menswear Designer of the Year and Womenswear Designer of the Year for his Fall 2017 <a href="http://daman.co.id/?s=Calvin+Klein" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Calvin Klein</a> collection. This highly prestigious award marks a historical record as the only designer to ever be awarded both accolades on the same is Calvin Klein himself, back in 1993.

The CFDA Fashion Awards is an annual award show held every June by the international fashion community to honor America’s best and brightest designers. Founded back in 1981, the awards are considered the highest honor in fashion as those in the fashion industry are recognized for their contributions not only in menswear and womenswear, but also in accessories, creative vision, personal style, as well as journalism, and lifetime achievement. Among the many famous names in fashion, some of the most recognized figures who have been awarded both Menswear Designer of the Year and Womenswear Designer of the Year, although not on the same night, include <a href="http://daman.co.id/?s=Donna+Karan" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Donna Karan</a> (Women’s 1990 and 1996, Men’s 1992), <a href="http://daman.co.id/?s=Ralph+Lauren" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Ralph Lauren</a> (Women’s 1995, Men’s 1996 and 2007), and <a href="http://daman.co.id/?s=Michael+Kors" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Michael Kors</a> (Women’s 1999, Men’s 2007). In addition to his 1993 double win, Calvin Klein was once again named Menswear Designer of the Year in 1999. This isn’t the first time Simons has received a CFDA award as he previously received the 2014 International Award for his work at <a href="http://daman.co.id/?s=Dior" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dior</a>.

Since his presence at Calvin Klein beginning early this year, Simons has made a splash not only in the brand’s style but also in American fashion. His debut collection for Calvin Klein which was presented in February received rave reviews and many celebrities have been quick to wear his designs at various red carpet events. With these prestigious awards under his belt, we can only imagine what other amazing fashion ideas Raf Simons has in the works.
