Famous names, ranging from entrepreneur Sir Richard Branson to actor Patrick Dempsey to musician Alison Mosshart of The Kills, has designed and put their own spin on Converse’s iconic Chucks
The results are then auctioned off to raise funds for ocean conservation.
The silent auction has started since November 17 at www.501auctions.com/theoceangala, but you still have time to bid until the Second Annual Ocean Gala in San Francisco, which will be held on December 3.
In an official release, Mosshart shares her thoughts on designing for charity. “I harked back to that time as a child when everything is to be decorated, made unique, an expression of self. I had a day off on tour in Lisbon and sat on my hotel porch with the few art supplies I had, and started to draw. These shoes are covered in crowds, and conversations, amongst strangers. They are a coming together of people from all walks.”
Produced by MaiTai Global and OceanElders, the auction also includes items donated by Sir Richard Branson, Oliver Stone, Josh Groban and The Fray.
