Onitsuka Tiger Reimagines its 1970s Track Shoes

The Japanese sports shoes brand infused vintage inspiration into contemporary lifestyle to create a distinctive new model.

Attention Onitsuka Tiger fans: 1970s track shoes are back in fashion. Inspired by some of its archival models, Onitsuka Tiger presents its new ACROMOUNT series. Creative director Andrea Pompilio reimagined this vintage form and brought it back to life with a combination of fabric and leather, resulting in a novel creation that harmonizes heritage with innovation.

Capturing the essence of track shoes design at the time, which is characterized by a thin forefoot and voluminous midfoot, the ACROMOUNT model has been remastered to better suit modern lifestyles. This model incorporates a mix of lightweight sponge and rubber, and is adorned with the iconic Onitsuka Tiger Stripes that accentuate the classical design, proudly marking the world-renowned Japanese athletic brand.

This new collection comes in three models: The low-cut, middle-cut, and knit model, which boasts a next-level softness on the upper foot. The ACROMOUNT KNIT model flaunts a modern reinterpretation of lines on the upper side, resulting in a fresh, modern style that stays true to the brand’s legacy.
