Onitsuka Tiger Launches Genderless Sneaker In Collaboration With Amazon Prime Video’s “Cinderella”

The Japanese brand presents a new take on the glass slipper that goes beyond gender and age

Imagine if the story of Cinderella was set in modern times and instead if glass slippers she wore sneakers instead? Well, Onitsuka Tiger has reimagined the iconic footwear with a limited-edition sneaker created in collaboration with the Amazon Prime Video’s “Cinderella.”

In this the new rendition of the classic fairy tale, Cinderella, played by Camilla Cabello is presented in a more modern perspective, where she is ambitious and works hard to make her dreams come true. In sync with the message of diversity promoted in the film, the Japanese fashion brand created this sneaker designed based on a novel interpretation of the glass slipper that allows anyone to be the protagonist in any situation, without being limited to the stereotype.

Showcased in a prismatic colors, the model adopted for this collaboration is the P-TRAINER PRZM  from the Onitsuka Tiger Contemporary Collection. Reminiscent of the glass slipper, the prismatic colors are used on the entire upper to create a mirror-like glossy effect. The design complements both casual and dressy styling.

Moving down a bit, the platfom sole is decorated with the brand’s symbolic stripes, while the iconic tiara from the movie is featured on the heel top. The Onitsuka Tiger logo and movie title can be seen on the shoe tongue label and insole.

This limited-edition sneaker also comes with a special shoebox and shopper featuring the graphic design of the tiara. A limited number of 800 pairs is made available globally starting this September and retails for IDR 3.099.000 the Onitsuka Tiger store in Plaza Indonesia.
