Omega Passes All Tests with Globemaster

MASTER AND COMMANDER. Endurance is one of the most defining characters of an Omega timepiece

Well-known for its moon watch, Omega’s true spirit for innovation persists with new movements and certifications. One such innovation is the Globemaster, the first watch that underwent and successfully passed a series of eight tests by METAS (the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology) in order to receive the Master Chronometer rating.

These include the unaffected precision when affected by a 15,000-gauss magnetic field, when left with only zero to two-thirds of power reserve, and when placed in six different positions. A celebratory remark of that certification is emblazoned on the front dial.

The case-back is even more striking with an image of an observatory and eight stars symbolizing the series of tests.
