With the latest OMEGA Constellation Gents’ collection, the Swiss watchmaker offers a new take on the legendary timepiece.
In the world of watchmaking, Omega’s Constellation has long been a symbol of exquisite precision and timeless style. With a name inspired by humanity’s timeless fascination the stars above, it has sought to redefine the standards by which we measure time and has always done so with elegant beauty and class. Since the very first Constellation model was launched in 1952, the brand has been constantly innovating to achieve advanced levels of sophistication and precision.
This year, the brand’s famous Constellation Gents’ collection takes its next step in design and technology, offering new models for men which not only offer exceptional variety, but also the excellence of precision that this family of watches is known for.
THE NEXT GENERATION
For the latest Constellation Gents’ collection, Omega has successfully integrated some of its finest and most advanced watchmaking materials into the designs. For instance, the models come in stainless steel, 18K gold or a combination of both. Additionally, in order to replicate the look of the original Constellation Manhattan of 1982—which used a shiny sapphire glass—almost all the bezels in the new collection have been crafted in polished ceramic.
One model features its own stainless-steel bezel, which is enhanced by blackened Roman numerals. For those with ceramic bezels, the Roman numerals are presented in either Omega’s Ceragold, which is the first product to allow the decoration of ceramic watch parts with 18K gold, or Liquidmetal.
Appearance wise, as seen upfront, the hands have been given a slimline update. The new indexes, which are inspired by the Manhattan skyline—most notably the triangular facets of the Freedom Tower—as well as the crown, have also been subtly reshaped for added style. Aside to that, compared to models of the past, the beveling along the edges of the case and claws has given the collection with a slender look.
The latest Omega Constellation Gents’ collection has been Master Chronometer-certified by METAS
Moving to the inside, Omega movements are always a treat for the wearer. The watch is driven by the impressive Omega Master Co-Axial Calibre 8900/8901 and the wearer can admire the finer points of it through the sapphire crystal caseback. It’s also important to note that all watches in the latest Omega Constellation Gents’ collection have been Master Chronometer-certified by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS) according to the industry’s highest standards of precision, performance and magnetic resistance.
THE SPIRIT CARRIES ON
The new Omega Constellation Gents’ Collection watches reflect a particularly bold and sophisticated spirit, while also beautifully capturing the Constellation’s most famous design traits such as the iconic claws, the half-moon facets, Roman numerals and single golden star. On top of that, pieces in the new collection adheres to the eight strict tests that every Master Chronometer-certified watch faces before it leaves the factory. Customers are also invited to discover the many different combinations of colors and materials, which truly make these new models stand out.
As a final touch, in order to create a unique look of its own, most of the new 2020 models will be presented on leather straps with a decorative metallic link that connects each side of the strap to the case. Above all, with each model staying true to the classic Constellation style, Omega has successfully updated its iconic collection with a range of elegant designs.
