Oliver Peoples Released New Collection Inspired by Cary Grant

The Los Angeles-based company is known for its vintage aesthetic with a modern sense of understatement.

We’re not looking to start a debate here, but Cary Grant is the embodiment of what it takes to be a Hollywood icon. His legacy consists of more than his on-screen accomplishments but also his style. Grant’s charm and sophistication really was elegance personified and that is one of the reasons for the sunglasses company, Oliver Peoples, to release a new collection inspired on Grant.

Oliver Peoples launched a sunglasses line, Cary Grant and Cary Grant 2 Sun, that are inspired by frames that Grant wore in “North by Northwest” and includes a nod to Grant’s off-duty style. Creative Director of Oliver Peoples, Giampiero Tagliaferri, has always been inspired by Grant’s personal style and this is his way to honor the Hollywood icon. “Oliver Peoples wanted to create a frame that evolved the initial design but continued to pay homage to the timeless style of one of the most iconic Hollywood actors of all time,” says Tagliaferri.

Oliver Peoples and Grant’s estate also worked with an artist to create new images from iconic photographs of Grand by adding in the glasses and showing how the were well-suited to his style and the era.
