TWO TO TANGO. “Collaboration” might be one of the most overused terms in fashion. Nevertheless, joint ventures between the biggest names in the industry has not lost its charm.
Take, for example, Lemaire and Uniqlo’s collection: The Japanese retailer’s versatile and simple fast fashion married to Lemaire’s sensibilities is like a match made in heaven. The collaborative venture between Balmain and H&M, meanwhile, will show how Olivier Rousteing, the former’s creative director, can translate Balmain’s lavish designs for the mass market. Finally, Vans invited Japanese artist Takashi Murakami to create a capsule collection featuring his works on shoes and T-shirts.
