Movies of the Month: Long-Awaited Titles to Watch at Home

Jungle Cruise

Dwayne Johnson continues to deliver action-packed fantasies to the big screen for audiences around the world. Similar to “Jumanji” and “Journey 2: The Mysterious Island,” “Jungle Cruise” showcases The Rock’s acting prowess. The fantasy film brings us a story about river boat captain Frank, who cruises on a quest to find the fabled Tree of Life together with a scientist joined by her brother. It goes without saying that the cruise is anything but smooth. Along with Johnson, the film stars Emily Blunt, Edgar Ramirez, and “Black Mirror” star Jesse Plemons.

The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard

Action-comedy movie “The Hitman’s Bodyguard” was a hit, but it certainly seemed as if the story was done when it came out in 2017. But now, a sequel is apparently about to come out, titled “The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard.” Ryan Reynolds returns as Micheal Bryce who got himself tangled in a new situation with his hitman- client Darius Kincaid and his volatile wife Sonia Kincaid, played by the legendary Samuel L. Jackson and Salma Hayek, respectively. The film also adds Antonio Banderas as a mobster who tries to hunt the- now iconic trio down.

Space Jam: A New Legacy

Twenty-five years after the original “Space Jam” took the world by storm, the Looney Tunes universe is back in theatres with “Space Jam: A New Legacy.” This time around, NBA star LeBron James attempts to save his son from AI-G Rhythm, played by Don Cheadle, with the help ofBugs Bunny and his friends. This long-awaited sequel is sure to overwhelm millennials with nostalgia. Expect to see a new generation of live-action-meets- animation visuals, explosive action on court and the kind of hilarity that the Looney Tunes characters are so well known for.
