Jeremy Renner made his big splash with an intense performance in the Oscar-winning The Hurt Locker, but these days, he’s probably better known for his performance as the steely eyed archer Hawkeye in the superhero blockbuster The Avengers
Now he’s starring in another film that has him shooting up bad guys with arrows, but this time the villains are witches instead of aliens. In Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters, the old fairy tale about two children getting lost in the woods and having to kill a witch gets a dark, violent sequel that sees the two siblings continue their witch hunting ways as leather clad adults. Alongside his sister Gretel (Gemma Arterton, Quantum of Solace), Hansel battles the evil sorceress Famke Janssen (Taken 2). Fans of the Underworld series should dig the aesthetic here.
