In the action-comedy remake of the famous Johnny Depp TV show of the 1980s, the film 21 Jump Street, has Schmidt and Jenko, portrayed by Jonah Hill (Moneyball) and Channing Tatum (Dear John), more than eager to leave their adolescent problems behind.
Joining the police force and the secret Jump Street unit, their mission is to use their youthful appearances to go undercover in a local high school. As they revisit high school and all its problems, they both find out that a lot has changed since they graduated a couple years previously.
Emma Stone was originally cast as the lead female role, but dropped out due to scheduling conflict and was replaced by Brie Larson (Scott Pilgrim vs. The World). Other cast members include Ice Cube, Rob Riggle and, of course, Johnny Depp.
Set to hit theaters in the USA on March 16 and Singapore in early May, it’s one of the most anticipated comedies of the 2012 so far.
