Movado Just Smartens up Its Watch Game With Google

TIME TO GET SMART. Luxury watchmaker Movado, has recently announced that it has partnered with Google to present an ultra-customizable smartwatch

Movado’s New Smartwatch collection promises to be more customizable but still maintaining its iconic image.

After working together with HP to produce its first generation of Movado Bold smartwatches, the Luxury watchmaker has now partnered with IT giant Google for its latest iteration into the smartwatch market. The newly Announced Movado Connect will be one of the first watches designed specifically for Android Wear 2.0 and will launch fall of 2017, introducing five men’s styles with a starting price of $495 available in the US, the Caribbean, Canada and the UK. The collection will be unveiled at Baselworld 2017.

The Movado Connect is said to feature five unique customizable dials based on Movado’s iconic Museum that wearers can tailor according to their own desire. Thanks to the brand’s innovative approach to design, the watch will include three to four elements that can be personalized, including features such as backgrounds, and watch hands creating a multitude of variations that consumers tinker with, making the timepiece more personal. To meet the demands of today’s digital age, the new smartwatch will feature a new user interface that has been optimized for round screens, an “always-on” display, improved fitness tracking, iOS and Android compatibility and an updated Google Assistant.

Tommy Hilfiger and Hugo Boss, which are two brands in the Movado Group portfolio, have also partnered with Google, with the collection launching in fall 2017.
