Two fashion giants have joined forces for a capsule collection titled “FENDI by Marc Jacobs”
As the name implies, the collection is a reinterpretation of FENDI’s iconic pieces designed exclusively by American designer Marc Jacobs. A master in branding, Jacobs has put his signature touch to the men’s accessory line. The soft trunk bag, phone case, wallet, hat, shoes and eyewear are particularly noteworthy.
To kick off the task, Jacobs explored a number of ideas: “I’ve got one word: Fendiroma. And it is one word! It is another land, this Fendiroma. And I’ve got two words: The Baguette. It’s a bag— and I am never one to shy away from an iconic bag.” Regarding the latter, he applied the letter branding to the handbag collection, even attributing the Baguette’s miniature version to a baseball cap. This has become his way to celebrate the bag’s 25th anniversary. FENDI’s Flow sneakers are also part of this reinterpretation. The design has been given a massive branding treatment with the Fendiroma logo printed on the body. The collection extends to the Domino sneakers and sunglasses, which are adorned with the F logo. This merger exudes a modern showpiece and, all in all, marks a rare but grand fashion partnership.
