Dubbed the LV Bike, it is a reinterpretation of Maison Tamboite Paris’ classic model
Louis Vuitton introduces its LV Bike that’s perfect for two-wheel city adventures and countryside exploration. The maison teamed up with Maison Tamboite Paris—an artisanal Paris-based bike-maker established in 1912—to create this first-ever LV Bike.
The bike itself is a reinterpretation of Maison Tamboite Paris’ classic model. It fuses both houses’ common yet unique know-how of leather craftmanship and woodworking. Case in point: The bike is hand-crafted in Paris and its metal framework is made of enameled and chromed steel, stretched and lightened, strengthening the bike and allowing for an invigorating and smoother ride.
Moreover, as a nod to nod to Louis Vuitton’s heritage, it also showcases Louis Vuitton’s key signatures, including a Monogram flower chain set and an interlocking “LV” shaped frame.
Aside to that, the iconic Louis Vuitton materials are also found on the luggage rack of the closed-frame LV Bike model and on the frontal basket of the step-through frame LV Bike model, while carefully selected leather envelopes each saddle, handlebars, and cables.
To top it off, true to Louis Vuitton’s know-how, wood has also been used for the tire rims as well as the mudguard, which sports a graphic Louis Vuitton signature.
There are four models of the LV Bike that are available with the aforementioned a step-through or closed frame. Interestingly, to ensure both the bike’s and rider’s safety, there’s also an integrated tracker that allows for realtime location tracking via a dedicated smartphone app.
To top it off, all of the bicycles are equipped with a two-speed drivetrain. Buyers can also personalize their bikes with initials across the frame or through hotstamping below the saddle. And the best part is, the bike is available for order in Louis Vuitton stores worldwide.
