“Howl’s Moving Castle” marks Loewe’s third and final collaboration with Studio Ghibli, following their previous success with “My Neighbor Totoro” and “Spirited Away” editions.
For Studio Ghibli’s fans, this news can be either exciting or heartbreaking. Loewe just announced that their collaboration with the Japanese studio is set to launch this coming February 2023, but this collection will be the last collaboration between the two.
For their final collaboration, Loewe is cooking something charming featuring the most-recognizable characters from “Howl’s Moving Castle” such as Sophie, Howl, fire demon Calcifer, Markl, Heen, Turnip Head and the Witch of the Waste. Similar to what they have done to the success of their two previous editions, the collection will also span across the men and women collection as well as men’s most popular bags like Puzzle, Hammock and Amazona. From ready-to-wear section, jackets, coats, jumpers and shirts stand out with appliqué, raffia and feather details.
Loewe has also unveiled the global campaign for the collection, with images photographed by Juergen Teller who was also in-charge for Loewe’s previous collaboration with Studio Ghibli’s “Spirited Away”. The campaign is starred by Taylor Russell, Rianne Van Rompaey, Oliver O’Sullivan, Hyunji Shin and a sheep against a white backdrop. The collection will be available on February 1 for pre-sale and the next day for the global launch.
