William Grant & Sons, the maestros behind iconic labels like Glenfiddich and The Balvenie, recently unveiled a special haven in Jakarta where the amber hues of exceptional single malts mingle with the tantalizing notes of well-crafted blends, offering enthusiasts an exclusive sip into the brand’s portfolio rich legacy.

Enter The Distillers Library, a sanctuary where the rarest expressions from the William Grant & Sons portfolio come together, each a testament to the time-honored tradition set to captivate the senses of whisky enthusiasts. In particular, each precious whisky at The Distillers Library tells a tale of heritage and tradition as it is pulled from the family’s archive.

These include the rare collections of Glenfiddich, which has excelled for over a hundred and thirty years since it first ran from the stills on Christmas Day, 1887, and is still produced in the same distillery which William Grant and his family hand-built. Moreover, guests of The Distillers Library will also experience limited bottlings of The Balvenie, which are dedicated to the five rare crafts used to create its distinctive taste.

“We are seeing a rising demand for luxury malts across categories in Indonesia. Through The Distillers Library, we wanted to create a space for learning and exploration, no matter where you may be on your whisky journey. Whether you’re new to whisky, or a collector, there will always be something new to uncover here,” explained Will Peacock, Global Luxury Director at William Grant & Sons.

Located in Bumi Pakubuwono, Kebayoran Baru, Jakarta, this portal to the heart of William Grant & Sons’ legacy that began in 1887 and up until now, six generations later, is designed to be a unique space for the enthusiasts and whisky connoisseurs. It has a retail store open to all consumers who wish to purchase bottlings from the core range of William Grant & Sons, including Glenfiddich and The Balvenie.

Rare offerings within the portfolio will also be introduced and available only here and nowhere else. Aside from that, the guests to The Distillers Library will enjoy exquisite hospitality while learning and discovering the history and heritage of William Grant & Sons, led by Brand Ambassadors.

An invite-only space within The Distillers Library also houses some of the rarest and most precious treasures from the family’s archives to make it even more special. Reserved for valued private buyers and collectors, this ultra-private area takes whisky discovery to a whole new level.

Speaking of which, an 11-bottle set of The Ladyburn Edition One, a valuable bottling of a William Grant & Sons “ghost distillery” that was shut down in the middle of the 1970s, is the most remarkable discovery found here. There are only 10 sets worldwide of a 54-year-old whiskey distilled in 1966, one of which is now in Jakarta. Mind you, these sets are the ultimate collector’s item, with each bottle showcasing a unique historical image of the London cityscape taken by photographer David Bailey in the 1960s.

Furthermore, beyond Ladyburn, connoisseurs and collectors can expect other limited-edition collections, exceptional bottlings, and precious whiskies, as The Distillers Library will host a curated portfolio of exceptionally rare expressions from William Grant & Sons’ oldest, deepest and most comprehensive reserves. The best part is that it is regularly updated for the invited guests to make new discoveries with every visit.

Ultimately, as Jakarta embraces this distinguished offering, The Distillers Library claims its status as a unique portal that transcends time and invites guests to indulge in the stories concealed within each bottle of whiskey and a custodian of time-crafted, most elusive treasures.

The launch of The Distillers Library by William Grant & Sons not only marks a celebration of the past but heralds the arrival of exclusivity, sophistication, and the promise of more revelations to come, promising a historical journey unlike any other.
