TAMU Jakarta brings Indonesian stories to the table

Discover how TAMU in Jakarta transforms Indonesian culinary traditions and personal memories into a contemporary shared dining experience

Built around the idea of shared dining and collective memory, TAMU (Jl. Adityawarman I No. 8, Jakarta; +62 813 8630 2888; tomagroup.id) blends nostalgia with a contemporary culinary perspective. At the heart of the space stands a fifty-year-old saka guru—four central wooden pillars symbolizing gathering, strength and balance—which anchors both the interior and the restaurant’s philosophy. The menu draws heavily from the personal histories and regional roots of the culinary team. Dishes such as the Konro Pipi Sapi pay homage to Makassar’s bold flavors while the Sambal Goreng Otot traces back to Chef-Owner Andreas Alnico and his childhood memories in Cirebon. Adding another layer to the experience is Chef Arief Rachman’s Balinese Lawar Udang, which rounds out a menu shaped by stories, travel and shared traditions.
