From October 11 to 13, 2024, Whisky Live Macau 2024 presents an invitation to delve into the world of the dram, with over 40 exhibitors from all over the world in attendance
Whisky aficionados and holidaymakers in Macau will have something to look forward to this upcoming October. The esteemed Whisky Magazine has joined forces with SJM Resorts, S. A. to present Whisky Live Macau 2024. Held from October 11 to 13, 2024, the annual event presents a unique opportunity to discover exceptional and popular whiskies and a wide array of culinary delights.
The expansive Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau will host this prestigious event and more than 40 global exhibitors will present their products during the weekend affair. Throughout the event, guests will be able to sample various whiskies. They can also interact with experts and producers while learning about their whiskies.
The Whisky Live Macau 2024 venue will encompass four main areas, each offering a specific experience. The pillarless Grand Pavilion will house over 300 whiskies from distilleries in England, Scotland, the United States and beyond. Some of these products have not been introduced to Macau, thus offering a special opportunity for guests to explore new flavours. While tasting the whiskies, visitors will be entertained by live performances from various musicians, including Ted Lo Quartet.
Next, the verdant Jardim Secreto situated on the third floor will be transformed into a cocktail garden. Here, visitors can discover myriad spirits from several countries and regions, including Hong Kong and Japan. Every night, guests can also try special tipples crafted by celebrated bartenders from Macau and Hong Kong. On the musical side of things, the resident DJ will prepare catchy setlists.
To further enrich the experience, exquisite food pairings will be available at both venues. The talented kitchen team at Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau will present exceptional creations that pamper the taste buds. So, there will be seafood, cheeses and premium meats from Scotland and the U.K. to complement the whiskies. In addition to this, the event will see a special limited-edition bottle from Hokkaido Atsushi Distillery. The single-barrel whisky, produced as a limited-edition release of only 130 bottles, embodies the unique character of Hou Shore, featuring marine notes and invigorating citrus hints.
Finally, those wishing to learn more about whisky can join special masterclasses. There will be fourteen sessions led by global experts, with topics ranging from the brewing process to captivating brand stories. Among the masters who will make an appearance are Suntory’s China Brand Ambassador, Jacky Zhang, and SAKURAO Brewery & Distillery’s President and CEO, Koichiro Shirai.
