This exclusive collaboration inject a dose of unique boldness and streetwear flair to the crocodile brand’s most creative line
Now, while Lacoste has long been a household name, Chinatown Market might need some introducing. The up-and-coming fashion label was established by New York-born designer Michael Cherman and made its debut at ComplexCon 2016. Since then, it has grown into a powerhouse in its own right through sportswear and streetwear that are both nostalgic and fun. Today, Chinatown Market counts Jay-Z, Erykah Badu and Lebron James among its fans.
More importantly for this story, Chinatown Market is also no stranger to Lacoste, with the two brands first collaborating during 2018’s Hypefest creating custom air-brushed polos.
This year, the NYC-based label and the French fashion company joins forces once again as Chinatown Market adopts Lacoste’s iconic crocodile on various pieces. To be exact, Chinatown Market has invented a fierce, XXL-version of the iconic logo for a T-shirt and also embroidered the design on sweatshirts and caps. There are also polo shirts in sugary colors, a black hoodie and—in what is arguably the pièce de résistance of the collection—a short-sleeved shirt with a globe motif.
All in all, definitely a collaborative collection to look into.
