Kim Jones sure has a habit of doing great collaborations. His latest is with Japanese artist Hajime Sorayama, joining forces for Dior Men’s pre-fall 2019.
Following their first collab for Dior Men’s last show in Tokyo -where Sorayama’s iconic fembot took center stage-, the collection invited the artist to reinterpret the house’s logo on a series of t-shirts, a sweatshirt and a sweater.
In tribute to Christian Dior’s love of flowers and of Japan, these pieces are strewn with sakura, or cherry blossom petals, along with the infamous metallic female robot.
Meanwhile, his signature dinosaur robot is featured on a cardholder and a pochette, on a bandana and on the emblematic B23 sneakers. It also appears on a brass necklace, further inducing futuristic aesthetic of his works.
The collection is also part of Jones’ exclusive stage looks for K-pop superstar group, BTS. A set of seven stage looks, the group will don Sorayama’s tops, as well as Dior Men’s recent pieces such as the harness or the saddle bag.
The collection’s campaign have also been unveiled. You can see the video below,
Dior Men x Hajime Sorayama will be available starting on April 23rd, on dior.com and in boutiques.
