IWC Presents: Peter Lindbergh’s Portofino

The cast are terrific and take everything in good spirit. Luxury watches brand IWC went back to their roots in serene Portofino with iconic photographer Peter Lindbergh to create the photoshoot of the decade.

The scenic small Italian fishing village of Portofino is the perfect setting for the dolce vita and for the illusion that there is, even in this day and age, a place where time stands still. It is in this a place that some of the best people in the world gathered to enjoy life and to capture the essence of Portofino itself.

Most of these masterpieces of modern day photography were taken at a terrace of Splendido hotel overlooking the Ligurian coast  where the walls of the hotel bar holds black-and-white photographs of the famous guests who frequented it in the old days such as Rex Harrison, Ingrid Bergman, Liza Minelli and Alain Delon.

In conjunction with IWC’s lates Portofino collection, Peter Lindbergh returned with Cate Blanchett, Elle Macpherson, Boris Becker, Eric Dane, Luis Figo, Marc Foster, Matthew Fox, Tim Jefferies, Ronan Keating, Jean Reno, Hiroyuki Sanada, Kevin Spacey and Zinedine Zidane to recapture the beauty that is Portofino.

The “Days in Portofino” exhibition in Jakarta, which was held in November 24, was part of a worldwide tour organized by IWC, showcasing the magic of Portofino and the brilliant watch collection as they perfectly complement the stylish charm of the brand’s friends.

Presentations like this recent one had been held in every major cities in the world. One of the first city to behold  the wonderful photographs was Los Angeles on April 28, 2011. Celebrities and stars in the likes of Sylvester Stallone, Patrick Dempsey, Dermot Mulroney, Carla Gugino, Isabel Lucas and more were present to witness the world class exhibition that captured the spirit of “La Dolce Vita” and the true elegance of Portofino.

Singapore was the first city from Southeast Asia to host this exhibition on November 3, 2011. The party was held at Singapore Tyler Print Institute, where the landscape was transformed  into a romantic and glamorous set depicting an outdoor Italian courtyard, with guests being wined and dined, buskers and musicians providing entertainment, and an artist on hand to sketch their portrait as a momento for the beautiful evening.
