Helmut Lang Announces The Winners of its Instagram T-Shirt Competition

This T-shirt design competition started a month ago.

Last April, Helmut Lang announced a T-shirt design competition through its Instagram account, encouraging people to stay at home and create while at it. Led by the brand’s art director, Becca Halev, the initiative invited the brand’s more than 617 thousand Instagram followers to submit original artwork for a T-shirt that best references the brand but does not include any imagery or advertisement.

In the next several weeks, the label received 2,250 designs from all over the world including Amsterdam, Atlanta and Belgium, with participants from the age of 4 up to 70. The final 14 designs were then unveiled and for the last leg of the competition, the New York-based brand ask its followers to vote. The design garnering the most likes in 48 hours was then announced as the winner.

The winners will receive a USD1,000 gift card to shop on Helmut Lang’s site and selected graphic artwork will be produced and sold online this summer. The top three most liked areL
