Google & Levi’s Team Up for High-Tech Jacket

The two companies collaborate to design a jean jacket that is also, more or less, a gadget

A look at the first garment that was created by Google and Levi’s through Project Jacquard.

Remember that scene in “Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation” (2015), where Tom Cruise’s Ethan Hunt had to go underwater for three minutes and he had his oxygen level indicator embedded on the sleeve of his wetsuit? We still remember squinting at the scene in disbelief, while muttering, “Nah, that’s just impossible.”

Well, thanks to Google and Levi’s, we have been proven wrong.

Google and Levi’s have partnered to create a one-of-a-kind jean jacket. What makes it so special, you ask? The jacket is interactive!

Designed for urban cyclists in mind, the Levi’s Commuter Trucker Jacket is, to put it simply, made out of Google technology. By weaving the technology into the fabric, the garment works like a smart gadget and the wearer can control it by swiping or tapping on it.

The jacket will be available at Levi’s stores and website in spring 2017. While waiting, take a look at the video below to know how the smart jacket works.
