There are a lot of fishy things on The Hook’s (Jl. Cikatomas 2 No. 35, Senopati, Jakarta; +62 21 2751 3528, thehook.co.id) menu, which is totally acceptable considering the restaurant and bar serves seafood
Not just any seafood, though. The Hook is famous for its chemical-free grouper (or kerapu in Indonesian), taken from the Arafura Sea.
The Hook elevates this particular grouper—said to be the wagyu of fish—even more by pairing it with potato cream soup as an appetizer.
Its tender meat turns crispy in the Rosemary Parmesan Grouper main course dish, which consists of a breaded grouper fillet served with Parmesan sauce.
Although it has nothing to do with fish, the Hook’s iced Aceh Gayo coffee is also a definite must-try.
