Presented as part of Givenchy’s spring 2022 collection, the collaboration between guest artist Chito and Creative Director Matthew M. Williams features a series of limited pieces now pre-launching online and in selected stores worldwide
With the Givenchy spring 2022 pre-collection, Williams expands on the new tone and attitude he has established for the House by celebrating two cultures and two loves; his homeland, and France, the country he now calls home. For the season, Williams enlists long-time friend, Seattle-born, Mexico-based artist Chito for unique airbrush graphic to create bold reinterpretation of the luxury house’s iconic emblems.
“In my collections, I always speak to lived reality. For spring 2022, our first pre-collection runway show, I wanted to bring together my American roots and my brand new life in Paris,” Williams states. “There’s an energy of striking out for a new adventure, of drawing on something familiar yet creating something completely new. Chito made an ideal collaborator because we share that storyline; we speak the same language. Like me, he expresses his distinct visual signatures through unique pieces that give people total freedom to make creations their own personal statement.”
The collection ranges from a selection of T-shirts, jackets and accessories that are presented in a warm color palette. The clothes has the artist’s signature characters such as his cartoon dog, pop-inspired “Truehearted” piece as well as the “4G Heart” whilst Chito clown adorns the jewelry lineup.
The Givenchy spring 2022 pre-collection is available to purchase online now.
